Filibuster, plus Harry Reid Plays Hardball

Well, the ole’ parliamentary move on the part of Harry Reid didn’t really get the job done. Big surprise there. However, it did at least draw public attention to the Republican hypocrisy vis-a-vis “obstructionism”, as I remember them calling it not so long ago.

The Democrats appear to have grown a set on the Iraq issue, which is nice. Harry Reid responded by pulling the Pentagon’s appropriations bill until the Republicans allow a vote on the Levin-Reed proposal. This is a good, ballsy move, I think.

Finally, TPM Election Central notes that Fox News spun this into a “majority” vote against withdrawal. Actually, spun isn’t even the right word for that. They are wrong at best, and lying at worst.
